Beginning Agility

Beginning Agility will provide you and you dog with an introduction to the agility obstacles and important foundation skills with safety, fun and competitive excellence in mind. This class is intended for those new to agility, as well as for those who have already begun agility training elsewhere, but would like to improve their foundation skills.

Our six-week Beginning Agility class is held twice per year - beginning in January and June. The class is 6 weeks long, on Thursday nights. There is a 7 - 8 pm session and an 8:30 - 9:30 session.  Dogs must be 6 months of age or older, and handlers must be 15 years of age or older. There is no obedience requirement because all class activities are on leash. We strongly encourage participants, however, to be working on a solid off-leash Sit, Stay, Down, and Come with distractions present, since this is a prerequisite for the Intermediate I class (an 8-week off-leash class) which immediately follows Beginning Agility.

We have found, in our 25 years of offering classes, that nearly everyone would like to advance to Intermediate I at the conclusion of Beginner class. So it is in your best interest to work on your Sit, Stay, Down, and Come on your own or in an obedience class before the conclusion of Beginning Agility. Class tuition for the six-week Beginning Agility class is $150. Printable Enrollment Form
